Converting organic waste to energy. Explore anaerobic digestion solutions for agricultural and food waste management.
Converting Organic Waste to Energy
Anaerobic digestion is a collection of processes by which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. CleanCap uses this process to convert organic waste into biogases.

Substrates Utilized
- • Pig, cattle, fish & foul slurry
- • Energy crops (grain & grasses)
- • Produce waste (vegetables, fruits & nuts)
Key Components
- • Carbohydrates
- • Proteins
- • Fats
- • Cellulose & Hemicelluloses
Digestion Scenarios
High Dry Solids
Dry Stackable Substrate
Processes materials with 25-40% solid content without added liquids. Uses continuous vertical plug flow or batch tunnel horizontal digesters.
High Wet Solids
Wet-Pumpable Substrate
Designed for thick slurry requiring higher energy input. Offers lower land requirement due to lower volumes. Requires regular performance correction calculations.
Low Solids
Wet-Pumpable Substrate
Uses standard pumps with low energy input. Requires larger land area. Liquid environment improves circulation and bacteria contact for increased gas production.
